We support the needs of young people and work in partnership with professionals and other agencies to identify their needs and concerns. 

We recognise that each young person is an individual with unique requirements. As such, we provide individually tailored support plans to prepare young people for Independence.

Financial Wellbeing​

We understand that developing financial capability is an essential part of a young person’s development. We are committed to deliver financial education to provide learning opportunities for young people in terms of problem-solving skills in a real life context; encourage transference of skills and develop literacy and numeracy skills.

Life Skills

We recognise that young people in our care are going through the most important phase of transition and as such need guidance, support, and flexibility within all aspects of their growth and development. For us, it is important for each young person to be able to transition from semi-independent to independent living seamlessly. This is carried out through; supporting and guiding them within all aspects of semi-independent living, assisting and promoting the key aspects and skills required enabling young people to adapt to change.

Education

We support and encourage our young people with regularly attending education, food shopping, budgeting, job seekers allowance and advising what the different benefits are. As well as providing support and advocacy, we also assist in the creation of and implementation of reviewing pathway plans.

Budgeting

We support our young people to actively contribute to the running of their budgeting and encourage the type of foods to purchase that are nutritious. As well as introducing young people to a range of facilities and amenities in the local neighbourhood and wider community.

Health

We promote health and wellbeing to all the young people in our care. This is carried out through:

Promoting positive health, wellbeing and lifestyles choices including healthy eating courses. Support in registering with a doctor, dentist, an optician, health checks, advice on drugs and sexual health.

Guiding our young people towards a good standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness. Supporting our young people with drug or alcohol dependency. Referring young people to appropriate professionals and agencies should they require additional support.

Education & Training

We firmly believe that education is the key to the future for our young people. As a result, we make it our priority to ensure that all young people in our care are engaged within some sort of education/training programme. This is carried out by:

Working with the young person to identify their interests and skills.

Confidence building, CV, Interview Workshops – to prepare and train clients to a good employability standard.

Supporting young people by arranging initial meetings, interviews with colleges, advisors, and employees as well as the offer of continued guidance and support through the duration of their course and employment.

Helping to facilitate support in education where the young person struggles in their learning, by way of tutoring and other home learning schemes.
